“The Exogorth Strikes Back.” After seeing the Millennium Falcon fly between the teeth of a space slug in “The Empire Strikes Back,” and later seeing the Falcon attached to the bridge of an Iperial Star Destroyer, I realized the scale of this scene worked. I built Bandai’s 1/5000 scale Star Destroyer kit straight from the box, adding 15 LEDs to light the interior and engines. The slug is a latex puppet that I modified with paint around the mouth, and reinforced the interior with packing foam, plastic and an aluminum bar. The base is a Zulux moon lamp with a jagged hole cut in the top and a few rocks attached.
