1/70 San Ildefonso by Rob from RJ Scale Ships & Rellicas Model – 1/70 scale San Ildefonso Make – Occre Hours so far – 1200 This model of the San Ildefonso is just over 4 feet in length. A 74 gun 3rd rate ship of the line from the Spanish navy. At present I have approx 1200 hours spread over 7 months and am roughly half way through the build. The San Ildefonso along with her sister ship the Montanes took part in the battle of trafalgar in 1805. During the battle the San Ildefonso came under attack from HMS Defence. After fierce fighting the San Ildefonso was captured by HMS Defence. Her sister ship the Montanes managed to escape. Later the San Ildefonso was entered into British service as HMS Ildefonso. Her Ensign can still be seen at the Royal maritime museum in Portsmouth England to this day.
