The details are as follows: Kit Name Mirage III E/R Kit Manufacturer Italeri #2510 Scale 1/32 Aftermarket Eduard cockpit Interior and seat. Decals Euro decals (Fantasy Print Shop) ED-32121 This model is of a Royal Australian Airforce Mirage (RAAF) Mirage 3 aircraft A3-25 which flew in 1981 and was painted in a trial two tone scheme with a mixture of dark and light grey. The pattern was a wrap around with the colours within the pattern being reversed from left to right and top to bottom creating a quartered effect. Building the kit was fairly straight forward, though some care needs to be taken around the intakes and splitters as these require a bit of sanding and dry fitting to make a nice fit. If you are going to use the Eduard ejector seat aftermarket set then id advise you to put sit it in place without glue and see if the cockpit canopy touches the top. For some reason mine would not sit flush and I had to sand down the bottom of the seat. With the wheels I managed to leave out the gear struts and pop them in place near the end of the build which avoid the usual breakages etc. I used Alclad grey micro filler for the undercoat and a bit of black in areas around the panels. It to many hours with taping and masking this scheme and a few touch ups along the way but in the end the kit came out exactly like the real plane. I finished this kit in time for our State Model show (WASMEX 2020 – WASMEx) and won the Best Australian Subject category.
