The RISE tanks had a new engine (AVDS-1790-2C diesel 750 hp, with a CD-850-6A transmission) The objective of the RISE modification was to improve reliability and the 2C variant of the engine was developed. with improvements to starters, injection, cylinders, electrical system and superchargers. It didn’t develop more power than the original, but it had a much longer lifespan. The vehicle also had M60A3 (AOS) upgrades: New T142 tracks Barrel stabilization (called Add-On Stabilization, AOS) New turret rotation auxiliary motor These tanks instantly received the following upgrades: ERA Blazer Dome of the native commander which replaces the original M19 version 60 mm mortar Additional machine gun on the turret These improved vehicles were called Magach 6 Bet (6B) and, between 1980 and 1981, all Magach 6As were modified to reach the Magach 6 Bet (6B) standard. These tanks took part in Operation Peace in Galilee in Lebanon in 1982 and their improved armor proved its worth by stopping the vast majority of Soviet Malyutka missiles
