This is an older DB luggage car originally released by Piko in ΗΟ scale (1:87) that was missing some parts and had some minor damages. As an older model had some details missing too or some other were out of scale. The idea of an old withdrawn from service came easily, adding one more on a fleet of abandoned vehicles forming slowly a railway graveyard. Body has missing parts from wooden sides, doors are missing also all drilled and filed to be cut off. Interior floor and wall was installed to separate load from car’s crew sections. Most of additions are scratchbuilt. Metal detailing parts were added on car’s body and wheel equipment as well (brake bars and underframe support beams) Original ,(Piko equipped) car’s couplers were removed to make the model close to scale. Weathering of the car was critical to complete the car’s appearance of rust and decay. Mostly enamels were used but some acrylics also. It took almost a month for the model to complete, and that because of most of the work was removing parts by filling the wooden sides (plastic of that era is hard to proccess because of the thickness) Studying some photos was part of the work too.
