I started this layout in 2013 completely self-taught of dynamic railway modeling. By chance I went into a shop and bought an initial digital set of the Fleischmann in scale n and from there I started thinking about a project and then a model. First I bought a plywood board about 230cm long and 150cm wide. After buying the board I studied the railway route, then the positioning of the tracks. I decided to do three circuits and I bought the tracks again by Fleischmann in scale n of course. After positioning the rails with the relative height differences, I started creating the mountains using both plaster and concrete, then I thought about how to position the bridge paying attention to the smallest details. After placing the rails, creating the mountains and installing the bridge, I dedicated myself to building the city of my invention with a city area and a countryside area. I built various buildings including the Baden Baden station with various canopies, city buildings, country houses, a mill and even an amusement park. I mainly used Faller kits and Vollmer kits, also buying kits with mechanical mechanisms such as the mill, the amusement park and even the house on fire that emitted smoke. After building various types of buildings, I started painting the streets using various paints and then I started gluing grass, bushes, hedges and trees mainly from Noch. After that I started installing the lights, from Brawa, with all the various connections placed under the plywood. Installing the lighting was very difficult for me but by studying a little I managed it. I don’t remember everything in detail, but after completing the whole city and countryside area, I then created a pond with resin but above all I started placing a few dozen machines, mainly Busch and Wiking if I remember correctly and hundreds of characters and animals of all kinds, almost all of the Noch. In the meantime, I had bought about 8 passenger and freight locomotives from Fleischmann – Minitrix – Arnold -Roco. The two most beautiful ones by Fleischmann, with lots of lights and sounds. Several years have passed so I don’t remember everything perfectly, but the most difficult part was certainly the design of the route together with the construction of the mountains and related tunnels. Lastly, I bought a wallpaper to attach to the wall in the long part of the model. At that point all that remained was to enjoy seeing the trains travel, I was able to send 4 locomotives on three different circuits. This is the summary of the history of this totally fictional model but with characteristics linked to Northern Europe. Ale
