Viden the dragon It is a conversion of a dinosaur figure, Carnotaurus, inspired by a medieval legend about a dragon from the vicinity of my hometown Niš, from the Svrljig mountains. In slavic mythology dragons are actually good guys, protecting people and fighting along side against the forces of evil. Legend has it that this dragon gave his armor to the Serbian knight Miloš Obilić so that in the battle of Kosovo in 1389 he could break through the Ottoman army and kill Sultan Murat. The scale is approximately 1/25, it took me about a week to finish. I added the ram’s horns, forelimbs and wings. The wings are made of a combination of iron wire and napkin , so I can change their position and span to some extent. It was painted with a brush, and the shading was done with temperas.
