The model is in 1/72 scale and it represents the anniversary scheme for the 70 years of the 338th Fighter – Bomber squadron of the Hellenic Air Force. For the build I used Revell’s F-4F which has been heavily modified in various places. Some parts of Ted Antonopoulos’ AUP resinset were used generally. In the cockpit area I used his resin set, but a lot of scratching wasmade as well to increase detailing. I used Aires’ avionics and the engine bay was constructed from scratch by using Evergreen’s styrene in many shapes and forms; John Lekkas’ book “F-4E AUP Under the Skin Vol.1” was used as a reference. For the “ghost scheme” MRP’s colors were
used, without pre-shading. Grand Models’ decal concluded the build and gave an amazing finishing. The J-79 came for BlackDog’s set; however, due the fact that it came completely broken I had to recreate it and add a lot of detailing to achieve the desirable result. The model participated in IPMS Greece 2024 and was awarded with silver metal.
